Hello everyone, my name is Jackie, Area Co-ordinator for BizMums South Wales. I am blessed to be married to Pieter and mother to a very cheeky and energetic 18 month old boy called Dominic. We have recently immigrated from Australia to Wales to be closer to family and now we are getting used to the British way of life!
While we were settling into our new life, I was offered an opportunity to work with a family friend in his media company for a few days a week. This was a perfect way for me to get back into work after maternity leave (and working in a new country) as well as being flexible to fit around the demands of my family. This arrangement worked well for a few months but I needed more of an income so I decided to offer my services to other clients and that is how my virtual assistant business, JVB Connect, took shape. I am based in Cardiff but have clients around the UK and provide a range of services to enable businesses to concentrate on what they do best and leave the essential administration to me. I am flexible and can work from client offices or from home which means there is plenty of variety in my working week. Plus I meet loads of people which I love!
Speaking of things I love, I love to network! Over a few months of networking with different groups, I discovered it was really hard to network at a time and location that suited me and my family so I started looking for a child friendly networking group that I could take my son to. There weren’t any in South Wales but I did learn about BizMums and that they were looking to branch out into South Wales. I jumped at the opportunity to be the Area Co-ordinator for South Wales as well as host my own group – what a fun job! I am so excited to launch this month in Cowbridge, at a soft play centre called Bijou. BizMums is such an exciting and inspirational group of women who support each other and learn from each other while looking after their precious babies. I am passionate about helping women succeed using the skills they have and contributing to their future and their family’s future.
As the co-ordinator in South Wales, I am looking to set up more groups throughout our area for all those brilliant entrepreneurial women we have in our towns and cities so please get in touch if you would like to host an event in your area.
I look forward to meeting and or networking with you in the future. If you need anything, please do get in touch!
