Hi, I’m Kirstie and I host the Nantwich BizMums meet ups which are held at Regents Perk cafe on London Road in Nantwich.
I’m married to Matt and we have a son James, born Sept 2012. I feel really lucky that I have a job that allows me to spend time with James while he is young. I enjoy taking him to music classes, pre school groups and meeting up with friends.
I am a portrait photographer, and owner of Kirstie Edwards Photography. I love to capture special times and memories for people. I have more recently been concentrating on business photography, headshots and commercial events.I particularly enjoy working with business people and feel that I can help them relax quickly and produce images that they like and that capture their personality in a short space of time. It also fits in really well with family life and frees up my weekends for family time.
I have always enjoyed taking photographs but I decided to train professionally as a photographer after Matt and I were in a car accident in 2007. During my recovery, I took the opportunity to attend some courses and started taking family portraits for friends, this then developed into the occasional wedding and the business photography side has developed more recently. I really enjoy what I do and always feel honoured when clients choose me to shoot their family as it grows or feel comfortable enough with me to photograph them for their website. My passion is photographing people!
I joined Tropic Skincare in September 2015 and I am an Independent Ambassador selling natural skincare and make up. I found out about Tropic through a connection I made through BizMums and I love sharing the products with family, friends and others who value good quality, pure and cruelty free products for themselves and their family. I didn’t think I would have time to fit this in along with everything else in my life but like everything you enjoy, you find the time from somewhere and it’s lovely do something a bit different when I’m not behind my camera!
I found out about BizMums during the early part of 2014 through Facebook and saw there was an event happening locally which I decided to attend. I met Michelle and Stacey there and they were both very welcoming and friendly. I loved the idea that I could bring James along with me to meetings, so I didn’t need to find childcare for him in order to go networking. Juggling 2 businesses with a family and everything else involved with running a home is very challenging. Everyone is in the same situation so they all understand and support each other with balancing work and family life. I have grown in confidence since joining and since hosting my own group. I have met some really lovely people and made great friends too. The private members Facebook group in particular I’ve found brilliant and a great way of getting to know other BizMums that I don’t bump into at meetings. A place to share successes, find solutions to problems and pick up all sorts of useful information not just about my business.
I was really pleased to be asked to host the Nantwich group when it started in May 2015. I enjoy meeting like minded women and helping them make connections. I love the informal feel to BizMums meetings and that there is no hard sell , we all get our turn to talk about what we do and then it is up to each of us to approach others as and when we are ready to use their products/services or recommend them to others. It’s a very supportive and encouraging environment which is ideal for Mums who are maybe just starting out in business. I look forward to welcoming you to our lovely Nantwich meet up.
