Hi, my name is Net and I’m the host for the Warrington meetup. Warrington Bizmums meet on the second Monday of every month at Gulliver’s World Hotel, Old Hall, Warrington.
I live in Warrington with my husband and one son. Here is a little bit about me and the various hats that I wear –
For the past 3 years during the day, I am an Account Executive for Orbit News Ltd. We produce the more widely known ‘Warrington Worldwide’ which is a full colour, glossy, monthly magazine along with 5 other printed publications (Village Life, Lymm Life, Culcheth Life, Frodsham Life and Lifestyle Magazine). We are also the only daily online newspaper for the whole of Warrington and local surrounding areas. I am therefore at the centre of all things ‘Warrington’ and it’s my job to help promote businesses within the area and to help businesses to connect, collaborate and therefore grow. Every day is different and I love to help people in business from start-ups to larger established companies.
The business that I run as my sideline is the – Just Beecause Group. This takes on many aspects including Business Support and Events and also ‘Just Beecause UR Worth it’ which I have been running on and off for 8 years and is Avon.
Prior to this, I ran ‘Auntie Nets Childcare’ which allowed me to stay at home with my son while he was young and I ran that successfully – gaining a Good from Ofsted – for 4 years.
It was the corporate life before my son, working for a national food service supplier and held positions such as PA to Director or Operations for the South, Main PA for all Depot Managers, Regional Assistant, National Telesales Co-ordinator and ending as a Regional Sales Manager for the North West and North Wales.
My guilty pleasure is Warrington Town Football Club! I am the Chairperson for the Warrington Town Supporters Club and run their two Facebook pages and Twitter account, plus I run The Club Shop. (This all lead to the development of Just Beecause Business Support). I travel the country on the Team Coach, 99% of the time I am the only female to travel on the coach and to away games!! I became involved as my son discovered football at the age of 4, so thought I might as well get involved or become a football mum widow.
I discovered Bizmums while working for Orbit News as Networking was a whole new world for me. It has been the one event and group that has had the most impact on me personally and on a professional level. It is a truly amazing group of ladies of all ages, abilities, level of business – no-one is in competition and all love to collaborate, support and motivate. Through Bizmums I have met some friends for life – even if we have not physically met.
The support from the Facebook group is inspirational and has kept me going during those ‘down days’. Catching up on the videos at your leisure or joining in on the lives, knowing that there is someone there, going through the same struggles as you, is comforting. There are morning and evening online events that you can join in with from the comfort of your home (or at football matches in my case!)
The Warrington meetup has a really good mix of businesses attending. The Bizmums events are so relaxed and friendly – there is never a need for anyone to be nervous to attend them. Plus you always come away with some top tips to follow up and lots of new contacts. So if you’re a lady in business (mum or not!) and in the Warrington area – why not pop along and visit us. I would love to meet you and tell you in person why Bizmums will be instrumental to your business moving forwards. I’d be happy to have a chat in person, by email or over the phone if you’d like to find out more about it all, so please do contact me to find out more.
